Wedgy version 8 (Trivial Pursuit® Daily 20)
8 (7.27.2010) Whoops! Forgot Calendar mode too. Sorry about that. Thanks, Tim... duh!
7 (7.27.2010) This morning's site changes brought a new Main Menu button at the end of each game. Easy fix. Thanks for letting me know, you guys.
6 (4.1.2010) This auto now plays the game inside your Facebook window as well, if you are in to challenging scores and leaderboards with your friends. If you are having any issues, Firefox might be the better browser choice.
5 (2.9.2010) The new black strips caused a minor issue. Easy fix. If you are using Internet Explorer, make sure you stay out of tabbed mode. Have your pop-ups open in a new window instead, as described in the Questions "Changing out of tab mode" section of my site. Or just use Firefox, of course.
4 (9.14.2009) In Firefox, non-club members had their window size changed and the auto was just sitting there. Thanks for letting me know, Tim. That's the only fix made in this version.
3 (1.13.2009) Increased the amount of questions/answers allowed to be saved for the side Wedgy.txt file.
2 (12.2.2008) Fixed non-club Blocked rooms, the changed jackpot spinner style and a missed weekly bonus wedge (with episode bonus) Ok button.
Wedgy.txt (optional):  (10.25.2008) As the weeks and months progress, you will discover new questions and answers. Simply slide Wedgy's Reset after option to 9 and let the auto harvest them itself... and your calendar will be completed in no time. Or, you can keep your Reset after on 20 and download the latest >Wedgy.txt< here weekly. This current text file was uploaded on July 27, 2010 and should cover your calendar (including the UK site) through this date.

1 (9.23.2008) It's impossible for an auto to know every single question/answer when new ones are coming in our daily future, right? And I don't want to be forced to constantly update this thing, either. Therefore, read the below very carefully. If there's something you don't comprehend, read it again even slower. If you still don't get it, just run the auto and keep going until your calendar is finished. The default options are already set to accomplish this for you.

  • Two passes per day. On purpose, I developed Wedgy to pass through each calendar day twice so it can remember the correct answers and complete that day's wedge. If the auto stores any day's 20 questions and re-plays that same day, your wedges will happen. Everyone that sucks in trivia is probably doing this exact procedure, jotting down all of the answers with pen and paper. Instead, I am storing all of your known Q & A's in a Wedgy.txt file located in the same folder as the auto itself. Please do not email and ask why the auto is playing each day twice when this section clearly has that explained!
  • The good news. Only 1,100 points are required to complete a wedge. This means that the first pass really only needs to remember just enough answers to guarantee most of those 1,100 points. So rather than playing all 20 questions on the first pass, why not just log 9 of them instead? This will lock in 900 points and save some time. Then, the auto can quit back to the calendar and re-play that same day (on its second pass) with the first 9 questions guaranteed. I have just described the first Reset after slidebar option in Wedgy. Slide the option to 9 and the auto will have 900 (of 1,100) points covered for the second pass. At this point, there would be 11 unknown questions remaining and the auto should have no problem clearing the wedge. Hell, slide it to 10 and you guaranteed the 1,100 points required to have your wedge on the next pass without a gamble. You saved yourself 10 needless questions, even though Wedgy will save them anyways!
  • Even better news. As an optional bonus for smart people, I have gone ahead and logged all of the correct answers as of today's date (and further) on the calendar. This will help speed your pie completions and have you caught up rather quickly. All you have to do... is replace your stored library (Wedgy.txt) with mine. First, make sure your Wedgy auto is closed. Now right-click this >Wedgy.txt< file and choose Save Target As. Store it in exactly the same folder as your downloaded Wedgy auto. If you already started your own library harvesting, you will need to choose Replace when prompted. Now, start a fresh Wedgy and you will have over 1,000 answers ready to go! If you are working on your calendar days prior to Oct. 22, I would slide the Reset after option to 20 and stop the auto from making two daily passes (as described in the above sections). You obviously will only need one pass since you have downloaded all of the answers, and sliding to 20 turns that off. Remember, this section's steps are not required whatsoever. The auto is very capable of harvesting its own library and getting the job done, of course. I will try to update this library file as often as possible for those of you that are getting a late start. The current .txt file available here covers all Calendar days up to October 21, 2008, inclusive.
  • Miss one known. Let's say you don't want your Stats showing tons of Perfect Games or All Correct Games and you want to stop your name from scrolling across the top of the game's marquee. Check this option and Wedgy will purposely miss just one known question from any batch of 20. This option is especially useful for those that downloaded the optional Wedgy.txt file and will keep your screen name a little safer. Whether you are playing Calendar dates or Random Quizzes, missing one of your harvested answers is probably a good idea.
  • Random Quiz. Checkmark this option to play Random Quizzes instead of the Calendar dates at the main menu.
