Brainy version 10 (Who Has the Biggest Brain?) |
 |
|
Hover your mouse: As shown in the picture below, navigate to the game site's
initial "Who Has the Biggest Brain?" page and STOP. Do not click that yellow Start Game button! Now start my
Brainy and hover your mouse on it instead, exactly as the pink arrow down there is showing. The auto should
recognize it, click it, beep at you and snap your mouse away. |

|
Make Google Chrome your default web browser: Unfortunately and not my fault, you will encounter
the cactus of death screen or a broken Your Session has Timed out refresh button. In order to keep Brainy running longer, you
need to make Chrome your default browser. Open Chrome, click the little wrench icon at the upper-right corner, choose Options, then the
Make Google Chrome my default browser button. This will allow me to detect when these occur, close the game window and reopen a
fresh browser for you every time. |
| 10 (1.29.2012) Your Session has Timed out's Refresh button is completely broken. The auto was
doing its job, trying to click it, but there was no light at the end of the tunnel. Therefore, I installed my famous "close browser and
reopen a fresh one" trick instead. But you will need to keep Google Chrome as your default web browser (as described above). By the way,
if you wake up one morning and see the auto's title bar has changed to "Brainy: 7"... this means I saved your ass by opening seven
fresh browser windows through the night. |
| 9 (1.25.2012) They changed the opening page when you first navigate to the game. So now, please click
Start on my auto and hover your mouse over their yellow Start Game button there (as shown in the picture above). Do not click the button,
just hover on it... and the auto will recognize you with a beep and rip the mouse away. |
| 8 (10.25.2011) This morning's maintenance brought some extra curls and swirls in the blue background behind
all of the flash-embedded games, so the auto was having a hard time finding the game. If they keep changing it, I may have to resort to another approach.
You might need to clear your Chrome's cache (click the upper-right wrench Tools button, then Tools, Clear browsing data, checkmark the top 4 boxes only,
make sure the top pulldown reads “the beginning of time”, then click the “Clear browsing data” button at the bottom) and your Flash cache (click
here, then the “Delete all
sites” button, Confirm) to force the new blue background to arrive. |
| 7 (10.18.2011) A few of you are experiencing the Your session has timed out screen, whose Refresh button
has been moved down 2 pixels. Hopefully the auto will refresh your window properly now. |
| 6 (10.11.2011) This morning's extended maintenance brought a different blue background behind the game, so the
auto couldn't see it. While I was in there, I coded all of these flash-embedded games to simply Put your mouse anywhere on game! to get started. |
| 5 (8.16.2011) The game is constantly breaking with a blank page, like it tried to load but did not succeed.
And there Brainy sat, waiting for it to load. Not any more. If I notice that the game has vanished on us, I will send the F5 key to refresh the window
and count down 20 seconds in the auto's window. If the game actually loads within that time frame, great... we move on! If not, Brainy will keep trying
another refresh every 20 seconds until it happens. Not my fault the big bad (wealthy?) game site needs to rely on a Facebook server to open their own
games. Just makes no sense to me. |
| 4 (7.27.2011) Every once in a while, the Flash was getting stuck on the opening Main Menu page. The Play
button was sticking out, as if the mouse was hovered on top of it. Hopefully that problem has been solved in this update. |
| 3 (7.25.2011) After days of manually harvesting 2,999 unique font styles (not kidding) for one of the math
games (A+B=? with the number keypad, not A?B=C with the four buttons), I finally have the auto scoring over 500+ points consistently enough for an update.
There are still tons more that need collected, so you will see Brainy click 999 just to get through all of those unknown font equations. As time permits,
I will try to go in there and pick off the remaining 500-1,000 fonts to make the auto even smarter. There's just so many styles: some slanted left or right,
some bolder than others, some taller, some italicized. But for now, this third mini-game inclusion should yield around 25 rank points per hour. |
| 2 (7.20.2011) Version 2 covers the "Memory Objects" mini-game as well. After severe testing, I
can totally see the difference Chrome brings. There's obviously some kind of Flash lag problem in the other two browsers. Anyhoo, since this
mini-game only appears half of the time, you should now be collecting almost 20 rank points per hour (on average). |
| 1 (7.17.2011) This is only the first version, playing only one of the random eight mini-games (Count
the Blocks). There is much, much more intel on the way. But for now, this will help get you started with hopefully around 12 rank points per
hour. Since there's a 50-50 chance of your first mini-game being either the Blocks or Heaviest Weight, you will see the auto purposely quit
back to the main menu to ensure your rank progress. The next one I will probably be coding is that one where they give you three flash cards,
each with an animal pictured, and you have to remember which ones to click. I think the auto will do very well with that one. As stated above,
use Google Chrome only. |
