Boggly version 5 (Boggle Bash)
5 (8.15.2010) Opening Start Game button was changed, as well as a few other intermission windows. Thanks for letting me know, Chris.
4 (4.1.2010) This auto now plays the game inside your Facebook window as well, if you are in to challenging scores and leaderboards with your friends. If you are having any issues, Firefox might be the better browser choice.
3 (2.10.2010) The new black strips caused a minor issue. Easy fix. If you are using Internet Explorer, make sure you stay out of tabbed mode. Have your pop-ups open in a new window instead, as described in the Questions "Changing out of tab mode" section of my site. Or just use Firefox, of course.
2 (7.17.2009) The only change is that Boggly will automatically click the word BADGE and all words with a length greater than nine... when you are finally given an extremely rare puzzle that qualifies. Obviously, be sure to keep your Library option at the full 100 percent. And if you are pursuing the 10+ Boggle Wordsmith badge, keep your Longest Length option to 10 or more. The Word Choice Range option does not affect this new update, as the auto will now be clicking 10+ words (or "badge") anyways. After each round, Boggly will show you how many of each it has clicked for you so far. If you follow these simple instructions, no encountered puzzle that contains these badge requirements can escape you!

1 (6.30.2009) This auto has maximized intelligence, as usual. And it's extremely configurable, too. Boggly's window constantly shows how many words that remain in your puzzle. Here's an example... "3:40 4:42 5:29 6:14 7:5 8:1". This means there are 40 3-letter words left in your game, 42 4-letter words, etc. My favorite part about this auto is that you can clearly see that Boggly knows them all by comparing with the All Words tab at the end of every round (in the Game Summary screen). Sure enough, you will witness that there was indeed five 7-letter words and only one 8-letter word! I guarantee you won't find a smarter auto, nor one that allows such extreme rank advancement. Don't forget that you can use my Snoozy feature to take quick little naps and appear more humanlike during your word-clicking. Now check out these neat options that I have prepared just for you! My recommendations are in (parenthesis).

  • Longest Length (12): Choose the length of the longest word you want found. If you only want to find 3 and 4-letter words and keep it simple, slide this option down to 4. If you want to cap yourself at 6-letter words or less, slide to 6. Otherwise, keep this option maximized at 12 and you will discover them all. If you are having memory problems, choose a lower setting here and that will give Boggly less work to do.
  • Word Choice Range (33): Let's say you don't want to submit that many large words, but would rather play most of the smaller ones instead. Just slide this option down to the 25% range. Still want even smaller words? Slide down further to 10%, etc. Likewise, if you would prefer most of the larger words instead, slide up to the 75% area. Choose 0% to have Boggly play absolutely the smallest word that remains (or 100% will play the largest word and work its way down). If you want your words selected completely at random, just keep this option set to the 50% default.
  • Extra Finish (15): Be careful with this one! When the clock strikes under 0:10 seconds at the end of every round, Boggly can enter as many of the remaining words you would like as a bonus... at the blink of an eye. This option allows you to enter the percentage of remaining words that you would like clicked away. Some puzzles may only have 52 words left and another might have 193 words that can still be played. If you slide this option to 10%, the auto will click 10% of what remains for you (5 to 19 words). If you would like a little more than that, slide the option a little higher. I wouldn't recommend the full 100% because Boggly will kaboom every last known word in your puzzle, your room will not receive any Unique Words credit and you will win the MVP Award showing that you clicked a very unhuman 167 words. But if it's rank that you are after (words played) and you really don't care about an angry table, go for it. I just thought I would throw you a little bonus, in case any of you wanted an extra oomph at the end. I recommend no higher than a 20% Extra Finish, since some rounds could have a good 250+ words remaining.
  • Library Percent (100): For most of us, this option should be kept at 100% default. The only people that need to lower this are people with older machines or those having java/memory issues. Using half (or less) of the library could help improve your performance. But Boggly won't know as many words, of course.
  • Speed (60): Thanks to the Extra Finish option, there is really no reason to jack the auto's speed to a full 100% because you can see all of the players' speeds at your table. I made the default of 50% just slow enough to stay under the radar and not be too obvious. Yet I have seen some faster 80% players, but they are very few. There is no point in causing alarm at your table, so keep your speed at 75% or less and simply boost yourself at the end with an Extra Finish bonus!
